Name:
HUGE Fossil Seed Fern Frond Age: Pennsylvanian Formation: Llewellyn Formation Location: Near St. Clair, Pennsylvania Size: Frond is almost 7.5", plate is 12" Price:$48.00
This is a very large fossil fern frond from the classic location near St. Clair, Pennsylvania. The fossil is preserved as a thin film of white pyrophyllite on black shale. The detail of this fossil is quite nice, and the large fern frond (almost SEVEN AND A HALF INCHES LONG!) is beautifully displayed on the large, squarish plate of shale. This is a very large, very cool example of a huge, colorful fossil seed fern frond from the Coal Regions of Pennsylvania.
